What is the nisab?
The value of 52.5 tola (bhori) of silver or 7.5 tola of gold. Many scholars in Bangladesh advise using silver, since more people then pay and the poor benefit more. You can pick either here.
How much is zakat?
2.5% of your zakatable wealth, once it reaches the nisab and has been held for one lunar year.
What is exempt?
The home you live in, your personal car, furniture, clothes and household items, and tools of your trade.
